An impressionable military fortress inside Jaca.

The Ciudadela is an attractive pentagonal construction. It has taken many years for it to be completed. They started construction in the late 15th century, went on building, and eventually finishing in the 18th century.

The large door at the entrance appears to be of Mannerist origin, possibly dating back to the 16th century. There is a shield hanging over it marking the Austrian Dynasty.

Once inside, you can go to the various parts that make up the fortress. You can also see the military courtyard, which is made up of an impressive variety of arches.

There is a small church too. It dates back to the 17th century and is dedicated to Saint Peter.

The church has an interesting baroque face. Inside there are many pretty wall paintings. It was declared a monument of artistic interest in 1951.
