The Pyrenees have exceptional conditions for climbing. The geography and landscape are ideal for it. The area has been chosen for many important competitions over the years. There are some excellent mountaineering opportunities here. You will pass through some spectacular scenery overlooking the many villages and valleys in the area.
The valleys of Anso, Hecho and Canfranc are some of the most beautiful in the region. Probably the most stunning are the valleys of Tena and Benasque. There are many dramatic peaks here, most of them in excess of 3000 metres.
The Tena valley Sallent de Gallego is where you will find the Cirque of Piedrefita. There are many peaks to ascend here. The tallest ones are El Balaitus, Frondella and La Gran Facha
Also, worth a visit is the Cirque of Panticosa. It’s just outside the beautiful village of Panticosa. There are many attractive lakes and peaks here to explore. The most important peaks are El Infierno (Hell's Peaks), Tendenera, Sabacos, Piriecho, Zarre, Garmonegro and Aguales. Some of the best lakes are: Brazato, Bramatuero, Bachimana and Azuels.
