Jaca is well known throughout Europe. When people think of Jaca, they think culture, dramatic landscapes, skiing, traditions, folklore as well as very fine gastronomy. Closer to home, most Spaniards associate the name Jaca with the ice-rink.

The ice rink became known internationally in the early seventies, when the world pro at figure skating came to visit. This was the first time, but it became a tradition during the 70s and 80s.

In 1981 and 1995 the Winter University Games were held here. There have also been many national and international hockey championships held in the rink over the years.

In the mid-nineties, the focus shifted more towards figure skating. Nowadays, Jaca has become an international stage for various high profile figure skating events.

Jaca’s ski resorts and ice-skating rink attract sports enthusiasts from all over the world nowadays.
