Jaca is Nature, Jaca is Sports, Jaca is one of Aragon´s prized jewels, but above all, Jaca is Culture, and plays an important role in the patrimony of our history. In Jaca, there are numerous historical monuments spread out throughout the town. The cathedral is probably the main architectural attraction. It was built in the 11th century and landmarks the beginning of Romanesque art in Spain. The Cathedral is dedicated to San Pedro. It is a wide mixture of temples and connected buildings, with Romanesque structure and configuration.
Jaca’s churches were built in the 15th and 17th centuries. Some of them are magnificent; the Palacio Epicospal, for example, has become a major tourist attraction. It is an impressive Renaissance structure that dates back to the 17th century. Puente de San Miguel, on the other hand, is a perfect example of a gothic style church.
Although Jaca is a small town, there are many things to see here. You can spend hours wandering and never get bored. Make sure not to miss the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, or the Panticosa Spa. Also, the popular skiing resort in Canfranc is worth a visit. |
