Snowboarding was declared an Olympic sport in 1994. Four years later the actual snowboarding event took place in the 1998 games. Nowadays it is widely accepted as a real competitive sport, not just some new trend destined to fade out. Snowboarding is very popular in this part of Spain, and Jaca has the perfect facilities for it.
This year Jaca will host the industry’s annual “snowjam” event in its Astun resort. It was chosenfor its location right in the heart of Spain’s snowboard industry. Snowjam is an industry tradeshow organised solely for the Spanish snowboard market.
2005 was the third year of the event. The 2004 event proved to be a big success, and the organisers (Spolik SL) decided that the concept for the 2006 show would be even more professional. In 2005 they had over 80 brands and 560 visitors. The main aims of the event are to: display larger numbers of snowboarding brands, attract more visitors and to create a working atmosphere among snowboarding professionals.
The event takes place over four days. Products on display include: hard goods, clothes, boards, boots, bindings, glasses, footwear, gloves, helmets, bags, watches, accessories and more… |
